The first well, Dukhan 1, was drilled in 1939. Development continued after World War II and in 1949 the first crude exports occurred and the first offshore concessions were granted. In 1960, the Idd Al-Shargi and Maydan Mahzam fields were discovered. The largest offshore field, Bul Hanine, was discovered in 1970 and came onstream in 1972. Qatar Petroleum was created in 1974.
INDUSTRIAL CITY OPERATIONS (MIC)
Primary purpose of job
Manage, guide, control and supervise his team effectively in executing the drainage maintenance projects and budget of the Foul Sewer Drainage System, Surface Water Drainage System, Treated Sewerage Effluent (TSE) Networks and Sewage Pumping Stations with technical, cost and budget controls. Assist in the effective planning and scheduling the inspections, maintenance activities, manpower and material in liaison/coordination with Planning Engineer.
Experience & Skills
• 10-12 years of experience in civil/Mechanical engineering including 6 years experience in the industrial civil/Mechanical maintenance especially Oil and Gas.• Exposure to international experience and appreciation of cultural sensitivities.• Strong working knowledge of engineering/technical document control systems, practices international engineering codes/standards and organizational and analytical techniques.• Excellent oral and written English combined with strong report writing, presentation and influencing skills. Knowledge of Arabic will be an advantage.• Strong leadership and motivational skills. Capable of working under tight deadlines.• Experience in maintenance scheduling, budgeting and estimating techniques.
B.Sc. Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering Discipline from an internationally recognized university preferably with professional membership in a recognized engineering society / institution.
