Job Description

Position Summary: 

We are currently seeking high-energy professionals who are customer-focused with sound business acumen and problem-solving skills to join our dynamic organization as a Crude Scheduler. Crude Schedulers are responsible for optimizing flow by coordinating pipeline, marine, and terminal logistics for commodity movement. You will work closely with trading teams, suppliers, customers, and midstream service providers to optimize movement plans, approve nominations, produce shipping schedules and manage inventory. 

Key responsibilities for Schedulers include: 
 

  • Provide day-to-day scheduling and operations for trading teams, including activities such as blending, quality control, loss prevention and forecasting analysis
  • Manage nominations for pipeline, marine, rail and/or truck carriers; monitor and execute commodity movement
  • Work closely with traders to manage physical inventory positions and recommend trade activity based on interactions with third parties
  • Monitor pipeline/terminal operations to optimize schedules
  • Analyze data and produce regular reports for the trading team
  • Engage with internal and external industry experts and maintain strong relationships and lines of communication
  • Keep informed of and optimize operational costs
  • Support optimization initiatives and best practices, including advancing digital initiatives and process improvements
  • Champion incident-free operations and continuous improvement


Required qualifications: 
 
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 years of experience in the energy industry with at least 2 years in oil and gas operations
  • On-call availability for evening, weekend and holiday scheduling emergencies
  • Team player and ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Digital mindset and innovative thinker
  • Belief in getting results the right way


Preferred qualifications: 
 
  • Scheduling experience in a trading organization
  • Related experience with crude oil or refined products transportation

- Utilizes techniques and tools that promote effective acquisition and analysis of business data. Has the ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions, considering both the long and short-term impact of proposed solutions.
