Job Description

Job Summary
This position is located in The Woodlands, TX and is a member of the Property Accounting department. This role will be within the team responsible for capital accruals, DD&A, impairment testing and ARO as well as updating property schedules for financial reporting. The team collaborates with the overall CAO organization in The Woodlands as well as the MLP Controller's group in the Denver office.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have accounting experience within the energy industry related to the E&P or midstream segments.
  • Thorough understanding and application of accounting principles, with specific experience in E&P or midstream property accounting preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with accounting, field operations personnel, engineering, financial planners and external auditors.
  • Strong analytical and research skills as well as the ability to produce results under tight deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail, ability to multi-task and demonstrate professional curiosity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, experience with SAP preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with departments outside of Property Accounting.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant accounting experience is required.

Responsibilities
  • Complete assigned job responsibilities, which may include capital accruals, DD&A, impairment analysis, ARO or other responsibilities within the Property Accounting department, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Complete all SOX controls within the assigned area, and participate in annual process and control walkthroughs with the external auditors and the internal controls group.
  • Prepare property schedules and supporting documentation related to areas of responsibility for Financial Reporting and the external auditors.
  • Prepare account reconciliations in compliance with company policy.
  • Participate on various teams assembled to improve systems, processes and achieve additional efficiencies.


Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

CPA preferred

Relocation
This position is not eligible for relocation.

Travel Requirements
The percentage of travel required for this position is 0-10%.

Work Schedule
This position is eligible for the 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule.
