Job Description

  • Ensure a constant and high-quality level of the on-board organization of the vessels, in order to smoothly pass vetting and any other inspections.
  • Organize, implement and conduct on-board HSEQ trainings and execute random performance checks.
  • Prepare for and conduct internal audits for International Safety Management (ISM), International Ship & Port Facility Security (ISPS) and Safety & Navigation, as well as follow up on and solve any issues and non-conformities.
  • Monitor and promote Health, Safety and welfare of ship staff and crews.
  • Identify the need for crew trainings and arrange and implement these accordingly.
  • Assist in the selection of and interview new Deck Officer candidates.
  • Report to the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) on matters that deviate from the Safety Management System (SMS) procedures.
  • Investigate and report on accidents, incidents and serious near-misses, giving advice on possible remedial actions.
  • Pro-actively give advice on cargo-related matters.
  • Stay abreast of developments and changes in the relevant areas of interest, and pro-actively propose any required revisions or updates to workflows and processes.
  • Job Requirements:
  • You possess a valid Chief Officer/Master license and have at least 2 years of seagoing experience on chemical tankers in a senior rank.
  • You have a strong feeling for HSEQ and risk management issues, and have a thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant rules, regulations, codes and guiding principles.
  • You have ample experience in vetting preparations and on-board safety inspections.
  • You are fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • You are a team-player, have strong communication skills and an international mindset.
  • You demonstrate strong work discipline, motivation and initiative, and want to learn.
  • 24/7 working hours and are able to work under pressure.
  • You are willing to frequently travel abroad for inspections and training purposes.

  • MS windows application (word - Processing excel spread  sheets,  power  point Strong analytical skills and ability to solve business problems
