Job Description

Job Summary
This commercial development position is located in The Woodlands, Texas office. Anadarko is seeking someone who will help manage commercial operations and the midstream services provided by the West Texas commercial team.


  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience required, with a preference for 8+ years working in midstream commercial operations.
  • Very strong understanding of the midstream business and what drives it.
  • Working knowledge of midstream facility function, operations, accounting, and product take-way/marketing.
  • Economic modeling and strong analytical skills required.
  • Must possess excellent leadership, teamwork, negotiating, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple high-level projects and customer relations involving a variety of assets, challenges and calm under fire problem solving.
  • Requires the ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships, both internal and external.
  • Must pay attention to detail and have a keen sense of urgency.

  • Management and optimization of business profitability.
  • Identification of business development opportunities.
  • Evaluation of project economics and project risks.
  • Developing, communicating and securing management approval of commercial strategies and project opportunities.
  • Solid understanding of midstream contract terms and conditions, contract development and contract negotiations.
  • High aptitude for customer service, salesmanship and negotiations.
  • Keen understanding of customer needs, business drivers and competition.
  • Business unit budget planning and development.
  • Identifies, develops, realizes, and optimizes midstream commercial opportunities.
  • Takes ownership, accountability and leadership for the entire midstream team to ensure best in class midstream services to internal and external producers.
  • Develops and nurtures positive and mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external producers and third-party midstream service providers.
  • Effectively communicates strategies, execution plans, timetables, and status.
  • Coordinates and contributes to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, updates, and business plans for the region and its assets.
  • Diligently negotiates contract terms and conditions with internal and external customers.
  • Stays abreast of current trends within the industry and midstream operations. Prepares forecast reports on situations that may impact business performance and commercial strategies.
  • Recommends and drives potential improvements in current processes and practices.

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field required.

This position may be eligible for domestic relocation.

Travel Requirements
The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 - 10%.

Work Schedule
This position is eligible for the 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule.
