Job Description

As part of the Shell Operations team, the CRO will be assigned Operational and Maintenance activities for either the Stones or Perdido production asset. The team is charged with delivery of all elements in the Operations Business Plan, intended to ensure:

  • Compliance with the Operations Management System.
  • The Facility Systems are fully operational, maintained and available for production.
  • The Safety Barriers protecting People, Environment, and Asset are maintained and functional.
  • Regulatory and Environmental Compliance is maintained.
  • Competence is maintained.

The CRO's responsibilities include safe and compliant operation of control room activities related to safety systems, fire and gas, process, utilities, subsea, and wells. Duties will include monitoring and surveillance, system optimization, console reviews with engineering, critical tasks related to HSE Case and SEMS compliance, ESP roles, ICS, and proactive technical monitoring.

Dimensions

Responsibilities include the following activities.

  • Participate in Behavioral Based Safety Management Program
  • Compliance with BSEE and USCG regulations, and EPA permits using Smart Web based Tools.
  • Provide operational guidance to engineering
  • Develop and maintain System Operation Manuals
  • Develop and Maintain startup, purge, and operating procedures
  • Develop and maintain technical competency curriculum and deliver training to other team members on equipment and procedures
  • Review and provide input to MOC's or variances
  • Own various equipment systems and ensure robust preventive maintenance plans, procedures, and spare parts are in SAP Blueprint
  • Maintenance Facility Bypass Registers
  • Well testing and associated reporting.
  • Maintain Daily Production Reports
  • Maintain Vent and Flare Records and reports
  • Production allocations, morning reports, vent & flare reports, and gas nominations.
  • Support operators in surveillance of critical equipment to process systems
  • ESP duties including shift handover, start of shift orientation, shift team meeting and planning, end of shift reporting, proactive technical monitoring, managing abnormal situations, etc.
  • ICS response during emergency or response situations.
  • Prior Offshore Industry experience preferred

Requirements

Offshore operating with significant technical experience, the ability to work well with others, demonstrated ability to invest in a culture of care and accountability. Past Deep Water Operations experience is a plus but not required.

The following qualifications will be considered for the CRO positions.

  • Ability to read and Interpret Process Drawings required
  • Ability to read and interpret Cause and Effects Drawings is required
  • Ability to read and interpret Safety Analysis Functional Evaluation charts (SAFE Charts) is required
  • Assessed as competent for all HSE and technical profiles
  • Offshore CRO experience (deck operation and control room) required
  • DCS - Computer Assisted Operations experience required (Siemens and Yokogawa is a plus)
  • Process Systems knowledge & experience required
  • Topsides Operations Experience is required
  • Sub-sea operations experience required
  • Positive, proactive attitude toward improvements and improved ways of working
  • Demonstrated strong team skills and a proven ability to work in a team environment is required
  • Willingness to support Shell E & P Company's drug-free work environment. Willingness to work offshore on an oil & gas production platform on the Gulf of Mexico. Willingness to work a 14 day on and 14 day off shift schedule. (This means that you will be required to be away from home for 14 days straight working in the Gulf of Mexico, and then you will have 14 days off). Willingness to work 12 hours a day while working offshore. Willingness to take and pass a basic swimming test. Willingness to work in small, confined places. Willingness to work on high platforms and to walk up and down steps. Willingness to walk on high elevation grating. Willingness to ride in a helicopter over Gulf of Mexico waters for extended periods. Willingness to ride in a boat in Gulf of Mexico waters for extended periods. Willingness to be transferred to or from a boat via a personnel basket swung by a crane. Willingness to be transferred to/from a boat swinging on a rope. Willingness to report timely to assigned crew change locations on either the Louisiana or Texas Gulf coast. Willingness to work in a versatile, multi-skilled team work environment. Willingness to serve as a member of an emergency response team. Willingness to work in close proximity with co-workers.
