Job Description


Driveline Research and Development Engineer/Scientist is to build our core competency and develop products for off-highway applications including tractor hydraulic fluids, fluids for construction vehicles, etc. The demand for the driveline lubricants with better fuel economy and durability has been rapidly growing over the years. This position is critical in understanding the technical needs of key customers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and translating those needs into a profitable, efficient product development. This position requires good understanding of lubricant technology and is expected to work with cross-functional teams including Brand, Product Technical Services, and regional sales. 

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Develop lubricants for off-highway vehicle applications
  • Work with customers and OEMs to develop next generation lubricants for off-highway vehicle applications
  • Interface with Brand managers to understand Brand strategy and support the initiatives
  • Play a key role in maintaining strong technical relationships with key OEMs
  • Work closely with Product Technical Services (PTS) team to address customer's technical needs

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of experiences in driveline lubricant related fields
  • Creative with proven record in the product development
  • Sound technical skills and abilities with good problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills to work with diverse groups of people in different job functions and background
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters or PHD Degree preferred
  • Experience working with OEM
Relocation Options:

Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
