Job Description

Key responsibilities:
 

  • Support line management in establishing a strong and vibrant process safety culture
  • Work with Wheatstone shift teams to identify the leading indicators and practices relevant to process safety and coach shift teams to own and drive performance in these areas
  • Support Wheatstone in the effective, efficient implementation of the systems critical to process safety
  • Ensure the right process safety related metrics are being reviewed, appropriate verification and improvement actions are undertaken
  • Support and coach the process owner in identifying and driving change
  • Ensure there are programs for effective, efficient verification of safeguards, ensuring they are in place, functioning, and continually improved where appropriate
  • Steward the reporting, classification and facilitation of process safety related investigations as required
  • Work with leadership to verify actions associated with level 2/3 process safety related investigations are reviewed for completion and effectiveness in the months following the incident
  • Provide support to site for formal process hazard analysis and risk assessment studies
  • Commitment to health, environment and safety and Chevron best practices

Key skills and experience required:
  • Significant experience (10 years or more) in complex hydrocarbon processing, working with operations/engineering
  • Demonstrated experience and ability in an operations environment to engage operator teams, leadership and support function stakeholders to identify and drive continuous improvement in operational excellence management systems and culture
  • Working knowledge of the Australian "Safety Case" regime
  • Experience in process safety management of complex hydrocarbon processing facilities e.g. management of change, asset integrity management, performance standards, etc.
  • Experience selecting, planning, and facilitating process hazard analysis' including HAZOP/SOA, What-If, consequence analysis and risk reduction recommendation closure preferred
  • Experience participating in or leading audits against process safety standards and elements in operating assets - preferably complex facilities is desired
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and build key relationships that contribute to high-class business results
