  • Provide assurance to the business that the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) controls are being managed in accordance with local and Group policies through implementation of an Oman HSE Management System, structured reporting process and a robust audit program.

  • Provision of HSE Governance advise to the HSE Leadership Team.(LT)
  • Co-ordinate and maintain the Oman audit assurance process.
  • Co-ordination of Annual Business Assurance Letter Process.
  • Custodian of the Management Review Process.
  • Custodian of the HSE data reporting process.
  • Custodian of the Oman HSE Management System.
  • Support contract holders in delivery on Joint Improvement Plans.
  • Support the HSE LT in their leadership and communication with contractors and other support departments in a proactive effort to deliver Goal Zero performance.
  • Maintain, develop and improve the HSE network for sharing and communicating HSE information and learning from Incidents.
  • Actively participate in HSE promotional ideas and initiatives and assist in their coordination.
  • Develop annual personal performance review/management documents including performance contracts, individual development plans (IDPs) and goals and performance appraisals (GPAs).

The HSE Management Systems & Assurance Lead role will give exposure to the following:
  • Supporting a mix of international and local contractors with diverse safety cultures.
  • Reports to Oman HSE Manager.
  • This role will be office based in Muscat.
  • No direct or indirect line responsibility for staff (may have direct reports in the future).


  • 10 years' experience in HSE Management in the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Exposure to HSE/technical auditing and assurance processes
  • Previous experience working in the Middle East.
  • Good working knowledge of industry HSE requirements and managing contractor safety.
  • Fully conversant with international legislation and related documents issued by HSE(UK) OGP, API, OHSA, ISO and other organizations who are involved in or influence the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Experience integrating safety requirements effectively into business processes and execution of standards.
  • Ability to understand the workforce within their social environment as well as in the structured workplace by developing interpersonal relationships, creating strong open relationships with good communications within the team.
  • Provision of expert advice on HSE Management Systems & Assurance.
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills;
  • Ability to work remotely and independently;
  • Experience in coaching is preferred
