Responsible for the delivery of detailed piping and mechanical engineering design packages to support refinery operations and maintenance activities. 

Job Purpose & Accountabilities

  • This position reports the Documentation Team Lead
  • Provides piping and mechanical technical support for refinery operations and maintenance groups. This includes providing direction on the operation of piping and mechanical equipment.
  • Accountable for the development of design packages within the mechanical/piping discipline, in support of run and maintain as well as turnaround activities. This includes working with contract designer resources to manage peak workloads by reviewing and providing input on their design packages.
  • Ability to read and develop P&ID's, piping plans and section drawings, underground drawings, isometrics, support and detail drawings for equipment foundations.
  • Provide drawing validation support for Dig Permitting.
  • Support Reactive and Turnaround Maintenance with respect to piping and equipment repair methods.
  • Provide CAD-based and viewer application support for testing/implementation.
Requirements
 
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • 10 years of experience in industrial piping design
  • Bachelor of Science degree in industrial technology preferred.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all elements of facilities and plant design requirements.
  • General working knowledge of related fields including electrical, instrumentation, structural and civil.
  • Working knowledge of codes and regulations as they relate to project engineering, including EGGS, DEPS, PIPS & GEMS.
  • CAD-based programs: i.e. AutoCAD, CadWorx, other
  • Raster Design
  • 3D Modeling
  • Quick idea hand sketches
  • Development of detailed construction work packages.
  • Good working knowledge in Management of Change (MOC) Process.
  • Must be able to work with co-workers in a professional and respectful manner in a team environment.
  • Must be self-starter, detailed-oriented and have exceptional organizational skills
