Test and inspect products at various stages of the production process, primarily in process and final inspection, and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Ensure quality, engineering and process procedures are followed to produce a product that maintains a high standard for Weatherford customers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Select products for tests at specified stages in production process, and test products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical or chemical characteristics.
Record test data, applying quality control procedures.
Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
Develop knowledge of inspector skills.
Must know and understand the Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Work Place Instructions.
Understand and comply with all safety requirements, environmental requirements and Weatherford company policies.
Perform various other duties assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Aid other inspectors in the Quality Department on standard inspection practices, including the use of proper instrumentation.
Aid in the creation/maintenance of a functional traceability program for all products.
Inspect process and paperwork in winding to ensure procedural standards are being followed.
Inspect process and paperwork in the machine shop to ensure procedural standards are being followed. A first article inspection as well as multiple spot inspections of all in process parts.
Inspect process and paperwork of the final assembly to ensure procedural standards are being followed.
Receive incoming product: Inspect for dimensional, traceability, count, and material conformance.
Log and Calibrate all shop calipers, micrometers, and all other precision instrumentation. (Surface plates, Height Gages, etc.)
Generate and log scrap reports, non-conformance reports, receiving inspection reports, as well as other internal departmental forms.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
2+ years' experience in a Quality related function.
Ability to follow oral instructions.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to read common measuring devices; tapes, micrometers, calipers, etc.
Ability to discern the best and most accurate method to dimensionally inspect components.
Should be able to work closely with fellow employees.

Explicit knowledge on the care of precision instruments.

Basic knowledge of computer operation, Windows, and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of the ISO9001 Standard.

Experience with internal audits per ISO9001.
