We are seeking a Piping and Valve Engineer to join the Engineering Division of the East West Pipeline Department.
The Engineering Division is responsible for providing engineering analysis, development, design, and control of assigned tasks and projects.
Your primary role is to perform the related piping and valves engineering tasks. This will include the planning and schedule piping works, assist with material procurement, oversee installations and maintenance operations and supervise execution activities. It also includes developing the required engineering procedures to improve the piping/valves system in compliance with the applicable codes and engineering standards. Also, you will have training, knowledge, and ability in your engineering specialty and a working knowledge of related engineering fields.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized and approved program.
You will have a minimum of 9 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, and API and ASME Codes, Standards and Specifications.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Provide engineering technical support, consultations, and recommendations to resolve pipelines operational issues in the areas related to piping. Participate and lead pipelines failures investigations and studies, along with providing recommendations and preventive solutions.
Review the operating department's major procedures, provide recommendations and follow-up, and support the field implementation i.e., pipeline isolation method, decruding, mothballed procedures, and hot tap procedures. Review, evaluate, and lead the testing, implementation, and deployment of new technologies. This includes the development of new programs (Scope of Work, Materials, and Contracting documents). Participate in pipelines encroachment issues, Land Use Permit reviews, hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies, and risk assessments.
Review of capital projects design packages at all stages, Design Bases Scope Paper (DBSP), Project Proposal and detail design of pipelines. Review of third-party crossing packages crossing Saudi Aramco existing pipelines and recommend additional protection measures to mitigate stresses. Also review design packages of pipeline major crossing packages, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), Micro-tunnel and Cased crossing for new pipeline projects. Pre-commissioning support i.e., hydrotest and lay up procedure.
Perform the specialty tasks that include the formal pipeline stress analysis by using CAESAR-II software. Review and provide recommendations on field technical quarries on pipeline projects under construction. Develop and deliver tailored training sessions and workshops to enhance pipeline engineers' knowledge and skillset.
Participate in the review and development of pipelines-related engineering standards and practices. Perform and review piping design calculations, such as Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure (MAOP), wall thickness, and flow rates (velocity), hot tap, ovality, crossing, and rock blast nearby operating pipelines. Develop alternation and repair methods and procedure for different anomalies of piping and pipelines defects.
Provide technical support in valves operations and maintenance. Review new design packages and pipeline capital projects.
Project support related to material selection, sizing, design, and failures during testing. Provide engineering studies, reviews, and recommendations for pipeline mainline valves.
Develop and provide training sessions and workshops on valves area. Review new valves technologies to improve pipelines maintenance practices that will enhanced system safety and integrity. Evaluating local and international valves vendors that can provide support and enhance valves reliability. Participate as member in periodic reviews of standards and engineering procedures.
