We are seeking a Data Science Specialist to join the Chemicals R&D Division (CRDD) of Saudi Aramco's Research and Development Center (R&DC).
The R&DC has been in the process of establishing a High Throughput Research Center (HTRC) to support the accelerating of the development timeline of in-house catalytic technologies, mainly in the area of chemicals. The HTRC facility requires essential competencies and knowledge in the area of heterogeneous catalyst design and optimization, along with supporting skills such as the design of experiments, advanced statistical data modeling, and scale-up methodologies.
Your primary role will require developing data visualizations and analytical applications, multi-source data retrieval systems, data analysis/mining, production of interactive dashboards, charts and visualization diagrams for trend prediction and decision making.
You will apply your skill set to build data conduits and models from continuously operating high-throughput chemical reactor workflows, utilizing sensor and analytics data.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a Ph.D. degree in one of the following disciplines: computer science, materials science, chemistry, or physics from a recognized institution.
You will have at least 15 years of industrial experience, including at least 10 years of experience working on machine learning applied to optimization of continuous processes.
You must have a record of publications in recognized international peer reviewed journals.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:
Develop computational models to simulate catalytic reaction systems, with the intent of optimizing product yields based on multiple input variables.
Use state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to improve the prediction accuracy of the models, develop tools for the identification of optimal conditions, and make possible AI driven decisions for chemical process development.
Remain updated with the current and fast evolving field, to be able to publish technical findings in international peer reviewed journals and spread awareness of the latest tools and techniques in the organization.
Supervise and provide technical leadership to a team of scientists and engineers, and be responsible for the training and development of junior mentees.
Organize and lead teams for specific projects and tasks, and manage discussions with internal and external project teams.
