Drilling & Workover is currently seeking an experienced Construction Engineer to join the Projects Coordination Group for D&WO.
As the successful candidate you will review all engineering design packages, and manage project cash flow. Initiate project design requests (PDR), communicate with project design and technical services during design, attend meetings, and submit weekly reports for all projects under design.
You will review design packages before construction, act as Drilling's Project Management representative at site, follow up all the daily activities at site, and ensure that contractors work according to the scope of work and specification.
Conduct kick off meetings for new projects, prepare weekly progress reports, and work with Finance to close-out the projects financially.
As the successful candidate you will have a Bachelors' degree in Engineering.
You will require a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in construction or associated engineering fields.
A comprehensive knowledge of project management, cost control, and cost estimating is required along with a firm understanding of Building, Oil & Gas Industry codes & Standards, and Utility and Piping Codes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Provide engineering analysis from current or completed jobs to establish usage factors needed by Department Staff Members or by construction estimators to forecast manpower, tools and equipment required.
Support Construction Engineers by furnishing data of engineering, financial or general statistical nature that is required for controlling project costs.
Make "on-the-job" analysis of conditions which may be causing actual costs to deviate from estimated costs.
Prepare the final detailed project cost for review and approval by the Construction Engineer, and the Division Head.
Develop and evaluate a summary report of all expenditures accrued to a project or program.
Analyze methods being used on jobs with associated costs, and recommend any changes which would indicate an improvement in cost savings.
Prepare letters or reports to management concerning deviations of actual expenditures from approved funds.
Apply necessary measures on projects controls, safety, quality and integrity. Ensure ready access to project site to those who are involved in project construction and assist in obtaining work permits.
Work as job expeditor for better construction efficiency. Manage project close out and signing of Mechanical Completion Certificate MCC.
