The first well, Dukhan 1, was drilled in 1939. Development continued after World War II and in 1949 the first crude exports occurred and the first offshore concessions were granted. In 1960, the Idd Al-Shargi and Maydan Mahzam fields were discovered. The largest offshore field, Bul Hanine, was discovered in 1970 and came onstream in 1972. Qatar Petroleum was created in 1974.

Primary Purpose of Job
Overall responsibility of preparing, managing and controlling Department Budget and prepare precise/timely cost reports to the Lead Budget and Cost Control Engineer after constant monitoring the expenditure status in comparison to the approved Budget and represent the department on all financial related matters with Finance Department.Responsible for Invoice administration, process and endorsement for timely payment after proper coordination with contract sponsors /engineers.
Bachelor Degree in Engineering Science or Accounting with post graduate certification in Cost Engineering and Systems Analysis.
Experience & Skills
8 years in an Engineering position preferably in maintenance related activities in the oil and gas industry. Including at least 3 years in a commercial position related to cost & planning.
