Shell is a global group of energy and petrochemicals companies. With around 93,000 employees in more than 90 countries and territories, Shell helps to meet the world's growing demand for energy in economically, environmentally and socially responsible ways.
QGC runs a fully integrated venture which is operated by Shell and includes coal seam gas wells, compression stations and processing plants in Queensland's Surat Basin. The QGC project tenure is about 5,000 km2 and over 3,000 wells have been drilled. QGC wells are drilled to depths between 300 - 1,000 m and to sustain gas production to both domestic customers and export markets, QGC continually drills new wells across the project area. Additionally, the QGC Wells Operations Team currently manages 14 workover rigs to execute approximately 1,300 completion and well intervention activities per annum. It also manages 2 drill rigs and various offline interventions including P&A and coiled tubing work.
We are currently seeking 2 Wells Operations Engineers (Drilling and Completion and/or Well Intervention Engineer) to join our Brisbane based Wells team.
Our Wells Operations Engineers play a key role in our business and are responsible for the planning and coordination of all well activities, including drilling, completion and well intervention operations. This includes the preparation and implementation of drilling or well intervention programs, optimisation of operational processes, after action reviews and lessons learned, and preparation and maintenance of the OPEX and CAPEX budget. They are responsible for protecting Shells core values, reputation and economic interest in those operations. Well Operations Engineers promote a high degree of HSE awareness and good HSE practices to achieve "no harm", "no leaks" and "goal zero".
