Job Description

Job Summary 

This position is located in the Douglas, Wyoming office as a member of the HSE team providing support to the Powder River Basin Exploration and Production (E&P) Team. Anadarko is seeking someone to assist with environmental planning, compliance, programs and policies related to its exploration and production, drilling and completion operations in the Powder River Basin.


  • At least two (2) years HSE or related experience.

  • Effective communication skills with operation/technical staff, management, and regulatory agency personnel

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Proficient technical and computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite

  • Knowledge of the state of Wyoming and Federal environmental permitting, regulatory compliance requirements, procedures and plans as they apply to exploration and production, pipeline, drilling and completion operations

  • Knowledge of state of Wyoming and Federal reclamation and vegetation monitoring requirements and scientific methodologies used for sampling/testing and reporting
  • Experience in waste management, spill prevention, remediation, wildlife, and sensitive habitats protection


  • Federal and state environmental permitting and regulatory compliance

  • Assist E&P, Drilling and Completion Operations teams with implementation, execution, and oversight of environmental programs and procedures including Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure, Spill reporting, prevention and remediation, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Permitting and Plans, Avian, Wildlife and Threatened and Endangered species and habitat protection, reclamation plans and planning and NORM regulations.

  • Conduct field reviews of locations to ensure compliance with appropriate programs and plans

  • Perform environmental data collection, recordkeeping, and reporting

  • Reclamation Implementation, Pit closures, Waste management (Non-Exempt, Exempt, and Land farming), Waste profiling and RCRA evaluations.

  • Ground water and surface water permitting, reporting and protection, WYPDES permitting and reporting and wetlands evaluation

  • Implementation and oversight of Baseline Water Quality sampling, monitoring and reporting as required by the Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.

  • Assist with implementation, execution, and oversight of Anadarko reclamation and monitoring programs with oversight of reclamation and vegetation data collection, recordkeeping, and reporting

  • Represent Anadarko at Local, State and Federal agency interactions including Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, Wyoming State Engineer's Office, Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, Bureau of Land Management, Wyoming Office of State Lands.

  • Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) is beneficial.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned and required.


Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering or other related field preferred, Associates Degree required.


Valid driver's license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required.


This position may be eligible for domestic relocation.

Travel Requirements

Travel will be required up to 20%.

Work Schedule 

This position is eligible for the 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule.
