Job Description

Job Summary

This position will office out of Anadarko's Denver CO office and will lead the DJ Basin Stakeholder Relations team. In this role, the individual will be primarily responsible for leading a highly talented team in managing engagement with directly affected Stakeholders in the Northern Colorado, Wattenberg oil and gas asset (Weld County, CO) for Anadarko. Much of the position includes establishing relationships, listening to Stakeholder feedback, building trust, communicating development activities and understanding community perspectives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in direct community engagement
  • Proven leadership abilities in change management, conflict resolution, and organizational influence
  • Understanding and knowledge of basic oil and gas operations
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to effectively navigate sensitive, high stakes subject matter with diverse stakeholders
  • Has a high level of enthusiasm for work and represents self professionally
  • Creative leader driven to envision, execute and oversee unique and multidisciplinary projects
  • Successful track record of developing, managing and nurturing complex relationships
  • Proven ability to translate technical language into simple, easy-to-understand communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required


Responsibilities

  • Work across internal disciplines and with affected stakeholders to address concerns regarding impacts of oil and gas development
  • Manage the day to day responsibilities and the overall career development of a team of Stakeholder Relations professionals
  • Build and maintain relationships with key community members that foster trust, resolve conflict and enhance Anadarko's social license to operate
  • Supervise the coordination of external events according to business calendar and public relations goals
  • Provide support for the drafting and formatting of company operations data and communications
  • Represent Anadarko publically at community open houses and neighborhood meetings in Northern Colorado
  • Ancillary job duties may include the supervision of documentation of Stakeholder interactions via database entry/management, managing feedback/survey response data, and facilitating projects with other external-facing departments (Public Affairs, Government Relations, Municipal Planning, Graphics, etc.)


Education
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or other related areas of study.

Relocation
This position may be eligible for relocation.

Travel Requirements
Travel will be required up to 25%.

Work Schedule
This position is eligible for the 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule.
