Job Description

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as principal MCBU point of contact for all stakeholder engagement activities in assigned areas.
  • Build relationships with community partners, local government and civic officials, and influencers.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Monitor local legislative, regulatory and zoning issues that can impact the attainment of MCBU objectives.
  • Identify, develop and implement social investment partnerships in coordination with MCBU Public and Government Affairs strategy. Manage all requirements to execute social investments.
  • Lead and/or support local community events, employee volunteerism and engagement programs, internal communications, crisis response, social media and local media relations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Public Relations, Communications or related
  • At least two years relative experience as outlined below
  • Ability to engage and contribute to internal and external groups.
  • Ability to represent operational plans and positions to external stakeholders and build support for planned activity.
  • Knowledge of unconventional oil and gas development.
  • Ability to contribute in diverse groups and work collaboratively to achieve goals.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in crisis communications, public speaking and communication planning.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Have a sense of urgency, the ability to manage priorities and effectively allocate time to large number of projects.
  • Experience in executing strategic social investment plans, building constructive relationships with community partners and maximizing the Mid-Continent Business Unit's social investments to support business objectives and community needs.
  • Serve as a convener and facilitator to advance change in communities where we operate.

Relocation Options: 

Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
