Job Description

Key Objective / General Purpose

You will be an Electrical Engineer, working alongside the Lead Electrical Engineer to develop, plan and manage electrical engineering activities and address issues across the asset team's installations. You will provide specialist electrical knowledge and technical support to the asset team.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

  • Support the Electrical Technical Authority in the provision of generic and specific standards, procedures and systems that ensure a high level of asset integrity, availability and enable the installations' Licenses to Operate to be maintained.
  • Work with relevant interfaces to ensure that discipline input to integrated asset plan activities are identified in a timely manner and that any adverse consequences of modifications are reflected in an updated plan.
  • Participate in scoping, provision of solutions and delivery of modification proposals to ensure they meeting budgetary and technical requirements.
  • Provide discipline specific input to standards, procedures and scopes of work, as necessary.
  • Provide electrical engineering support to operations and/or projects as required and take ownership of all offshore electrical technical queries to ensure resolution to the satisfaction of all concerned stakeholders.
  • Assist in managing electrical studies to review the performance of the offshore facilities.
  • Define/review/approval of technical scopes for 3rd party contractors to undertake engineering of proposed upgrades and evaluation of 3rd party proposals.
  • Participate in detailed design activities for the asset where required, including risk assessment, HAZOP and HAZID etc.
  • Materials management
  • Manage vendors and vendor led work scopes to ensure that all work is completed on time and within budget. This includes ensuring that customer's Management of Change procedures are adhered to.
  • Prioritise and drive the proactive and reactive maintenance of the offshore electrical systems, ensuring all maintenance is captured within the CMMS system (SAP). This includes annual reviews of all PMR's to ensure alignment with Safety Case.
  • Set and maintain electrical budget, supporting quarterly cost forecasting and processing all invoices/material requisitions. Support scoping and provide technical input to all asset Modification Projects.
  • Support a working culture based on respect for health, safety and environmental issues and maintenance of a high level of asset integrity.
  • Contribute to good, open communication and effective working relationships with other departments, promoting a culture of involvement, participation and adherence to customer values.

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry or similar.
  • Knowledge of associated technical / engineering disciplines.
  • Familiar with UK industry regulations relating to the oil and gas industry.
  • Effective relationship-builder at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
