1.0 Job Purpose

As an Industrial Services Technician for EnerMech Mechanical Services, you will be expected to comply with department procedures, operate equipment and participate in the effective operation of industrial services activities.

Participate effectively, safely and maintaining quality as a technician within crews with minimal supervision by Leading Hands whilst utilizing good communication skills with all EnerMech and client team members in order to operate in an efficient, safe, flexible and dynamic manner on projects as directed.

2.0 Relationships



Directly Reports to:

Supervisor, General Foreman, and Line Manager

Close working relationships with:

Additional EnerMech management personnel and employment colleagues

  • Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas


  • Undertake the following works:
    • High pressure water jetting work including:
      • Aqua Milling®, Aqua Lancer™, TTCN, Tank Cleaning, Vacuum Loading, field maintenance of equipment;
    • Chemical cleaning;
      • General chemical cleaning;
      • Degreasing;
      • Passivation;
    • General mechanical works including;
      • General mechanical fitting;
      • Basic bolting works.

  • Abrasive Blasting and Coatings;
    • Abrasive blasting
    • Basic coatings application

with a key focus on ensuring the safety of the EnerMech crew, and any other personnel present on a job, at all times.

  • Work under Leading Hands in all tasks, responsibilities, duties, work and projects as may be requested.
  • Perform any administrative requirements including accurate completion of work timesheets, JHA's, vehicle check sheets, equipment inventory lists or any other documentation as may be required in the role.
  • Follow EnerMech best practices and internal policies in relation to safety, fatigue, cleaning equipment, support equipment, Personal Protective Equipment, inventory control, client relations.
  • Participate in external and/or internal training as required for;
    • Up skilling and/or cross training
    • Re-training as required with equipment updates, changes and new release
    • To meet customer site requirements

4.0 Individual Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities

  • Apply EnerMech Group and where appropriate Client's Health, Safety & Environment Policies and Procedures;
  • Ensure that all Quality and operational procedures as identified in EnerMech QA Manuals are adhered to at all times;
  • Maintain and embrace ownership of departmental policies and procedures; and
  • Lead Individuals in a Team to achieve quality, health, safety & environment outcomes and foster their learning and followship of the EnerMech Group
  • Participate in any and all safety briefs or team meetings in relation to OHS&E, JSEA's, SWMS, JHA's and job and environmental risk assessments as required by EnerMech or EnerMech clients .

5.0 Qualifications


  • National Construction Card - TWIC Card
  • Pre-employment medical (JobFit MediPass or Equivalent)
  • Current valid driver's license


  • Heavy Rigid Truck License
  • Senior First Aid

6.0 Experience, Competence, Skills & Knowledge


  • Willingness to learn and participate in learning
  • Industrial experience


  • Experience in High Pressure Water jetting and or similar high pressure pumping
  • Experience Operating Plunger Pumps
  • Heavy Rigid Truck License
  • Forklift License
  • Elevated Work Platform License
  • Working at Heights
  • Confined Space & Gas Monitoring
  • Experience Operating Drying & Vacuum Drying Equipment
  • Experience Hydrotesting
  • Work Experience in the Mining, Oil & Gas Industry

8.0 Physical Requirements

Sedentary Work

Light Duty

Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and / or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.

Medium Work

Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and / or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Heavy Work

Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and / or carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds or more.

Very Heavy Work

Lifting objects in excess of 100 pounds with frequent lifting and / or carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
