JOB SUMMARY / OVERVIEW

The Plant Manager has overall responsibility for employee's and production at site. These duties include Quality control, personnel and training issues, environmental compliance, equipment maintenance and accounting of plant costs. The Plant Manager will also act as company liaison with local, state and federal regulatory agencies as well as community agencies. He/ She will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in operations including process optimization, EH&S performance, cost reduction, people development, budgeting and capital programs.

• Direct department managers in the preparation and implementation of plant operating plans and strategies consistent with business requirements.
• Direct Supervision in the management of assigned areas to ensure objectives, operations and performance are met. 
• Plan the use of facilities, equipment, and personnel to meet current and future production requirements.
• Develop and maintain an effective organization through recruitment, selection, training, compensation and motivation of employees.
• Initiate various programs that lead to improved quality, decreased pollutants, waste reduction, overall efficiency and on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost.·        Ensure the efficient utilization of resources to enforce and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards as set forth under various regulatory agencies
• Continually improve process, cost position, while ensuring compliance.
• Involvement with interviewing, hiring, and retaining Operator staff and Shift Supervisors
• Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development.
• Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and improved working relationships.
• Determine headcount needs and facilities policies, direct and supervise the application of such policies.·        Identifies, communicates and drives implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.
• Provides expertise to the line organization in the development of standards of performance in all areas of product manufacturing responsibility.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by DOT, OSHA, EEOC, EPA, and federal, state, and local regulations.·        Perform other responsibilities as required by the company.
• Plant reliability and scheduling of operation.
• Achieve all production, efficiency, quality and budgetary targets.
• Develop and implement plant manufacturing expense and capital budgets
• All Personnel hiring, training and discipline.
• Coordination of all plant maintenance.
• Coordination of plant personnel work scheduling.
• Coordination of and local oversight of Distribution activities.
• Product release quality control.
• Bulk product customer relations at the local level.
• Plant reports to Corporate.
• Coordinate all activities with Bulk Logistics.
• Qualify and supervise vendors and contractors.
• Assist department head with data and budgetary preparations and presentations.

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical, Chemistry or related field desired
• 10+ years' working in chemical plant environment
• 5+ years' in supervisory or management position
• Methanol, ammonia, or fertilizer experience preferred, must have minimum of chemical plant experience
• Ability to lead, manage and develop employees
• Ability to produce analyze data and produce reports as needed
• Strong understanding of Safety Practices and policies for the Industrial Chemical Industry
• Understanding of safe work practices, Process Safety Management, incident investigation techniques, permit to work systems, management of change and safety & environmental regulations.
• Willingness to be "on call" 24/7
