DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work category management in price and cost analysis, create awareness around different cost data and cost categories
Build expertise using cost analyzer tool in building cost models (Total Cost or Should Cost), identifying key cost drivers in optimizing category strategies
Leverage knowledge and capability in price/ cost analysis, determine the company's exposure to individual cost drivers, i.e. material/ commodity, identify volatile cost components, in driving negotiation strategies
Understand, track and cascades trend analysis of cost drivers for key commodities
Work category manager in sourcing decisions, e.g. timing buys based on market and pricing trends
Analyze industry writing to better understand price forecast profile, use the insights and market trends analytics in recommending opportunities for improvements in achieving business objectives.
Work category managers in driving continuous productivity, cost and/ or business process improvement with suppliers based upon key cost drivers
Support commodity initiatives to leverage synergies with other functions (e.g. product lines/ engineering/ manufacturing) to maximize souring efficiency
Support commercial strategies in sharing insights on cost analysis and competitiveness
Identify contract strategies by evaluating unit prices / lump sum contracts and historical spend. Run (develop) Monte Carlo simulation models to identify more likely case and provide feedback to supply chain and Sales.
Help the priorization of transformation initiatives by using quantitative techniques.
Support normalization of initiatives, train initiative owners where applicable, ensuring proper governance and process followed
Develop the foundations / structure of should cost models so they can be used by souricng leads.
Train sourcing leads on using should cost models.
Work with both the sales and the ISP groups in large tenders by providing market intelligence. Both historical and projected cost dynamics.
