The Lead Wells, Gathering Maintenance Technician is a crucial role in our Upstream Operations based in Chinchilla. It is responsible for the safe and effective maintenance execution of all well infrastructure, identifying equipment failures, isolating and managing the repair of affected equipment, including planning of urgent corrective work. The roster for this position is: 15 days on 13 days off, working 10 hours per day.

Some of the deliverables and accountabilities of the role include;

  • Execute preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on wells, safely and effectively, and provide technical assistance, as required, to the Operations Team.
  • Ensuring quality repair work is undertaken and evaluation of the work of other technicians and equipment manufacturers.
  • Mentor/Coach entry level Mechanical & I/E Technicians and contractor Mechanical & I/E Technicians.
  • Inspect, test, adjust and repair equipment to satisfy appropriate Governing Standards.
  • Demonstrate high level of fault finding skills and the ability to troubleshoot autonomously.
  • Maintain maintenance records through effective documentation in conjunction with the Computerised Maintenance Management System.
  • Define, amend or advise procedures and schedules if required, for maintenance activities
  • Assist with the coordination of day-to-day activities of the Wells Maintenance Team
  • Act as relief Supervisor in the absence of the Wells Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements

The candidate we are therefore seeking for this position, will have/be; 

  • Results orientated with a high level of initiative and capacity to exercise good judgment
  • Extensive knowledge of quantifying and assessing risk and developing risk mitigation strategies
  • Skilled in the application of functional assurance processes
  • Ability to focus on the key operational issues and prioritise accordingly
  • High level of computing skills Microsoft Office and CMMS systems (Maximo experience desirable)

Crucial to the success of this role is the ability to lead and work effectively in/and across multi-functional teams and interface with and influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, whilst maintaining a high work level of work ethic, being able to work autonomously and being passionate about diving our company's performance.
