For our client in Malaysia we are sourcing a Technician for G&G Department. This will be a permanent opportunity based in Kuala Lumpur.
Scope of responsibilities:
Technical Database Management - Consolidate, catalogue and tabulate geological (stratigraphic column) maps, cross section, graph, figures into VU graphs or presentation material, in order for geoscientists to conduct accurate analytical processes. Review and monitor and continuously update G&G data movement used by geoscientists to ensure all information/data are appropriately recorded and archived for immediate usage
Support Services - Prepare file notes, presentation materials and memo for geoscientists in expedite the payment processes i.e. payment instructions to local authorities to sustain effective working relationships and rapport with the government authorities. Administer G&G specialist database by performing searches on the database in order to provide accurate and efficient data/info to geologists/geophysicist. Facilitate junior geoscientists on the implementation and usage of G&G systems and applications, to ensure geoscientists are able to conduct technical evaluation for exploration works
Technical Reports - Compile PC base geological and geophysical reports, scan and digitalized maps, seismic line & tapes for Exploration Projects, in order to ease the work process and meet the activity timeline. Administer proposal and report inventory by providing summaries to department manager on a quarterly basis, so as to provide efficient and up to date information/data.
Operational Activities - redraw, scanned diagram maps and amend new annotation in accordance to users' specification, so as to enable geoscientists to conduct accurate analytical processes and study. Plan metering contour maps and come up with quality structural closure area, map and area depth curves for geoscientists to evaluate resources/reserve computation. Edit maps, prepare reports and closures for geoscientists to ensure technical evaluation is accurately interpret and analysed.
Work Program & Budget - Provide services and assistance to department/section on the preparation of Work Program & Budget, Monthly Progress Report, COC presentation materials, tender documentation for acquisition tender and data transfer from File Transfer Protocol using website, so as to meet the activity's timeline

Have +10 years of experience within oil and gas and E&P function
Min. SPM/ MCE level qualifications
Are familiar with or have experience working with GIS software.
Are able to generate GIS-based maps, spreadsheets and graphs/plots,
Capture and convert data to GIS, including integrate data from external sources.
